The Washington Post editorial board is now openly advocating for the replacement of American workers with illegal immigrants in a new article. They claim it will strengthen our economy, but will it actually?
Economist Charles Payne doesn't think so. Speaking to Fox Business, he said, "American workers are being replaced. Even if you're apolitical, it comes down to expense. You push out someone who's going to cost you more."
He points out that increasing the labor supply, as well as importing workers who will do jobs for far less money, drives down the price of labor, making it difficult for Americans to secure well-paying jobs needed to support their families.
He also noted that, in the long run, this isn't beneficial for the illegal immigrant workers either because when times get tough, they're the first ones to get fired.
