Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is expected to appeal a court ruling that allows a Harris County low-income program to continue for now.
The "Uplift Harris" program provides $500 a month to qualifying low-income residents.
The first of those payments is scheduled to go out this coming week.
Last Thursday, a Harris County district court judge refused to grant Paxton's request for a temporary injunction against the program.
Paxton says the program is unconstitutional and an abuse of public funds.
