A Harris County deputy shot a man who allegedly ran toward law enforcement with a knife after trying to break into his neighbor's home in Northwest Harris County.
On X, Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said, “Units responded to a weapons disturbance. A male was attempting to break into a neighbor’s house and/or may have been shooting at the house. At some point, the male suspect, armed with a knife, charged towards a deputy. One deputy fired his weapon, striking the male. No reported injuries to the deputy. The suspect is being transported by Lifeflight in serious condition.
There is no current threat to the community.”
This is the third officer involved shooting involving Houston area law enforcement in the last two days. In all three cases, the officers were threatened with a weapon. In one, they were shot at.
No officers were hurt in any of these cases.
