Texans may not get a great view of the first total solar eclipse since the 1870's, but small town Texas businesses are still going to make big bucks.

"There are over a million people coming in. Those small communities are going to rake in a lot of money from hotels, restaurants, and merchandise," said business analyst Lisa Miller.

And it's not just hotels and restaurants, either.

"There is a music festival north of Austin charging more than $300 just to come and put up your tent," Miller stated.

Even private property owners with no business connected to the eclipse are making money.

"People are ringing doorbells, and offering money to be able to pop up a tent in their yard," Miller explained. "People are being creative."

As for what Texans will actually see, it may not be much. A large part of the state, including the parts that are in the path of totality, will be under cloud cover for the event. In Houston, we could see storms in the afternoon. So it may get dark, but you may not see much at lunchtime, when the eclipse is supposed to get underway.
