Trump received a rare legal victory Monday morning from a New York appeals court. The court effectively slashed Trump's bond from $454 million down to just $175 million. While still an immense sum for what has been largely condemned as a ridiculous ruling from Judge Arthur Engoron, it means Trump will be able to avoid a property seizure by NY State Attorney General Letitia James.

The deadline for Trump to make the nearly half a million dollar bond payments was today, and it was expected that Letitia James would begin proceedings to seize Trump Tower today. Depending on how the final appeal of the case goes, Trump may still be required to pay off the entire $454 million judgment, but for now, he will only have to pay $175 million to avoid seizure of his assets.

After the ruling came down, Former President Trump took to his social media platform TruthSocial saying, "Judge Engoron and Letitia James should be forced to explain why he rules that Mar-a-Lago was worth $18,000,000 when, in fact, it is worth from 50 to 100 times that amount. How did the Attorney General of the State of New York force this corrupt Judge to do that in order to help her narrative - AND WHY?"
