Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is suing two more adult websites for violating HB 1181, the state's new law requiring age verification to access pornographic content on the web. Paxton is now targeting the owners of the sites Chaturbate and xHamster. The world's largest adult website, Pornhub, recently blocked all access in Texas after the state won a court ruling allowing enforcement of the law.
In a statement, Paxton said, “PornHub has now disabled its website in Texas. Sites like PornHub are on the run because Texas has a law that aims to prevent them from showing harmful, obscene material to children. In Texas, companies cannot get away with showing porn to children. If they don’t want to comply, they should leave Texas.”
“I will continue to aggressively enforce HB 1181. All pornography companies lacking proper age verification safeguards on their sites should consider themselves on notice, because they’re violating Texas law,” Paxton continued.
