The narrative for years has been that if you go to college, you'll make more money. Turns out that might not be completely true. A new study shows that 1 in 4 graduates of higher education programs are making less money than those who just graduated high school.

Learner Mobile CEO Mike Thompson told KTRH, "You're seeing trade institutions become more popular. They build skills that people can immediately use to land good-paying jobs." They also come with significantly lower costs, meaning graduates of these trade programs often have much less debt to pay down with their earnings.

Thompson said that while college can often be a great fit for the right person pursuing the right career path, there's nothing wrong with deciding not to attend a four-year university. He says, "Today, we have so many options and pathways to a great career."
