Not only is President Joe Biden not enforcing federal laws against illegal immigration, but he's also dragging Texas into legal battles to stop our laws that secure the border. The worst part is, the way our legal system is set up gives Biden the advantage.
The American Thinker's Andrea Widburg told KTRH, "Technically, the federal government controls America's borders. But what we have now is the federal government refusing to control the borders." She says this makes it easy for the Biden administration to hamstring Texas when we are just trying to pick up the slack.
Widburg says that when the founding fathers built this system, they never imagined that we would have a president to abandon America for internationalism. This leads to Texas having to fight uphill battles when we disagree with the Biden administration on border policy.
Texas SB4, which is the subject of the most recent controversy, was recently halted by a Democrat-appointed federal judge in Austin. It's simply one of many border bills to come under fire due to the Constitution's Supremacy Clause.
The U.S Supreme Court put a temporary pause on the bill after an appeal by the Biden Administration of an earlier ruling allowing Texas to enforce it.
