This is the third involving officers with the Houston Police Department in four days. According to our television partner, KPRC Channel 2 news...HPD Chief Troy Finner said the the third suspect, a man believed to be 45-years-old, robbed a convenience store on Fuqua at gunpoint on Sunday afternoon. When he left the store, Finner said the suspect got into a confrontation with a person outside the store and pistol whipped them.

Officers were driving up and saw the suspect holding the person at gunpoint. The officers commanded the suspect to drop his weapon Instead of dropping the weapon, the suspect got on a bike and fled northbound on Alrover. When he got to a home in the 14400 block of Alrover, the suspect got off the bike and sat on a bench, still holding the gun. When the suspect advanced toward the officers with the gun still in his hand, three HPD officers opened fire, killing the suspect.

Finner said the suspect lived at that location.

“Been a tough last few days in our city,” Finner said referencing the officer-involved shootings.
