Former President Trump is set to remain on the Illinois state primary ballot for the time being.
Trump's legal team filed an appeal on Thursday, one one day after a Cook County judge removed him from the ballot over the Capitol Riots. Like Colorado and Maine, the judge cited the Insurrection Clause of the 14th Amendment.
The order was paused until the Appellate Court of Illinois hands down a final order. No timetable has been released on when they will have a decision made.
