Texas Senator Ted Cruz has been calling for new Republican leadership in the Senate, and he's getting his wish.

Sen. Mitch McConnell will step down as Senate Republican Leader in November, leaving his post as the longest-serving Senate leader in history.

But McConnell is not leaving the Senate, saying today that, "I'm not going anywhere anytime soon. There are many challenges we must meet to deliver for the American people, and each will have my full effort and attention."

Cruz has yet to react, but other Republican critics of McConnell have. Missouri's Josh Hawley said, "There's no doubt it's time to turn the page. We've got to-- We've got to turn the page here as a party. We got to get back to supporting working people over a corporate interest.

McConnell suffered several health episodes in recent moths, and was pushing the foreign aid package the Senate passed for Ukraine and Israel.
