After a Boeing plane is forced to make a surprise landing due to a wing falling apart mid-flight, many consumers are having safety concerns. This comes just a few short weeks after a door plug blew off another Boeing jet. With what seems like a new safety issue every month with Boeing, consumers are beginning to wonder if they can fly safely at all.
Aviation analyst Jay Ratliff told KTRH, "When you're talking about a door blowing off the side of an airplane? That's not normal. A lot of things have to go wrong for that to happen, and Boeing did a lot of things wrong."
As far as Boeing's pledge to do better and ensure their planes are safe, Ratliff says he'll believe it when he sees it. As for the airline industry as a whole, Ratliff says he still has faith in the FAA and individual airlines' abilities to keep flyers safe.
