Despite a statewide ban on DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) in higher education, some universities are still clinging to the discriminatory practice. Rather than ending their DEI programs as required by law, they've simply renamed them or spread them out into various smaller programs.
Texas Scorecard's Brandon Waltens told KTRH that these sneaky tactics are still violations of state law. He says, 'These universities go rogue and get to a point where they decide to ignore the legislature on all of this.'
Waltens also pointed out that the entire point of a public university is that they have to answer to the people, by way of the legislature. Now the next step is for the state to step in and begin investigating these violations of DEI laws and enforcing penalties.
