Three Republican judges voted to strip Attorney General Ken Paxton of his power to prosecute election fraud in 2021, effectively leaving the door wide open in blue cities with lenient district attorneys on crime.

KTRH spoke with Christian Collins of The Texas Youth Summit, who argues that we should be making it harder, not easier, to commit voter fraud.

"If there are no consequences for committing election crimes, or if those caught receive only a slap on the wrist, then they'll continue to do it," he stated. Collins believes that AG Paxton deserves commendation for his work, but due to his strong ties to Trump, he will likely continue facing such challenges.

Collins says, "There are people who just don't like President Trump and they don't like Attorney General Paxton."

All three Republican judges who voted to limit Ken Paxton's prosecutorial power are up for reelection this year.
