After a weekend filled with delays, Senate Majority leader Chuck Schumer finally put out the text of the bipartisan border bill. For weeks, conservatives had sounded alarm bells over what would be inside it. And a deep dive into the 370 page proposal reveals they were right to be concerned.

  • The much-touted emergency border “shutdown” in the establishment’s Border Act will not be activated unless the president’s homeland security says so.
  • The bill would allow up to 8,500 migrants to cross the border in a single day without triggering the declaration of an emergency.
  • The bill would provide $650 million for the wall, and $48 Billion for Ukraine.

Texas Senator Ted Cruz told KTRH's Mark Levin that is is a "lousy" deal that's designed not to secure the border.

Wisconsin Senator Ron Johnson told Fox He won't vote for a bill :that is going to hamstring a future President."

House Speaker Mike Johnson went on social media and said, "I’ve seen enough. This bill is even worse than we expected, and won’t come close to ending the border catastrophe the President has created. As the lead Democrat negotiator proclaimed: Under this legislation, “the border never closes.” If this bill reaches the House, it will be dead on arrival."
