It's been a few months we've heard anything about the Colony Ridge development, which is about 35 miles north of Houston. Last year, the discovery of Colony Ridge turned into a firestorm, with news that it was filled with crime, the cartels, and a sanctuary for illegal aliens.
"The whole development is under much greater scrutiny than it has been" said reporter Holly Hansen with The Texan, "This is a on-going public safety concern, Colony Ridge has been kind of a flash point."
And it still is. Not only are Texas lawmakers to address it during the next special session, currently the federal government is suing the developer of Colony Ridge over deceptive lending practices. And closer to home, there are concerns because Colony Ridge actually drains into the main source of drinking water for Houston and Harris County.
"I think we're going to have more news about this" Hansen told KTRH, "It's quiet right now, but I believe it will come back to the surface at some future date."
If all of that is not bad enough, Colony Ridge is also having a problem with abused and abandoned dogs.
