Mardi Gras Galveston kicks off this weekend with a change in schedule because of a rainy forecast.
A spokesperson says today's three daytime parades will roll an hour later than originally scheduled.
The idea is to protect parade participants, marching bands, and spectators.
This evening's parades, live entertainment, and balcony parties will start at the planned times.
Sunday's family-friendly "Family Gras" events are still free to the public.
