The 'Take Back Our Southern Border' convoy heads to Texas

The crisis at the southern border has now fed up everyone, not just here in Texas either. Across the country, people such as New Yorkers are calling for deportations, and shutting down the border entirely. When Democrats are no longer celebrating and championing an open border, then you know it has gotten serious.

Over the course of six days lasting January 29th to February 3rd, the organization We the People is trying to do bring people together on the problem. They are running a Take Back Our Southern Border convoy, which will end with a stop in Quemado, Texas, about 30 miles north of Eagle Pass.

Trucker Kip Coltrin, who is from We the People and participating in the convoy, says people have been very supportive on their journey.

"It is amazing to watch the support of people passing by who figure out what is going on and see the American flag...it is just nuts," he says. "You have such a hand of support there...because Americans are sick of the junk going on in Washington, it gets old."

This convoy also highlights just how fed up the working-class people are with this administration.

"People go to work, they work hard, and long hours...everything they work for is taxed start to finish...meanwhile that job they are working...it does them no good," he says. "While there might be ten million people working so hard...there are one thousand in Washington screwing them so bad that their best will never amount to much."

To be clear, the convoy will not end up in Eagle Pass, which has been the subject of an intense battle between the White House and Texas Governor Greg Abbott. But it will still be in yet another Rio Grande border town that sees influxes of immigrants.

Coltrin has been part of other convoys int he past and has taken the lead in this one for a while. Believe it or not, you do not need to have a big rig to be part of the journey.

"There was me...we had two other 18-wheelers in it for sure, but beyond that, it was primarily cars," he says. "You do not need to be in an 18-wheeler to be cool in a convoy...what is cool is when Americans get up, get moving, and take a stand to make a statement."

In surprising, or not-so-surprising news, plenty of Left media outlets have called the convoy an 'armed insurrection,' among other incorrect titles.

"We will be way away from Shelby Park and Eagle pass," he says. "Everyone is converging to pray...coming together around the country to one of the biggest problem spots. When people gather to pray...and be what we are supposed to be...I do not see that as an issue."

The convoy arrives in Quemado on Saturday, February 3rd.
