Texas Supreme Court Hears Oral Arguments On Gender Transition Ban - SB 14

The Texas Supreme Court heard oral arguments today in Austin for SB 14, the gender transition ban that is now the law in Texas, but was put on hold after a liberal district judge blocked it from going into effect.

"We believe very strongly that the Supreme Court is going to rule the right way on this issue" said Jonathan Saenz, president of Texas Values, "The law currently is in effect. You don't have to cut up your body, you don't have to sterilize yourself to deal with gender dysphoria."

After lawmakers on both sides passed SB 14 last year, Governor Abbott signed the bill into law. Hopefully, the TX Supreme Court will issue a quick ruling.

"The Court's tradition is that they're going to end their cycle by June, they'll make all their decisions by then" Saenz said during a news conference after the arguments, "I wouldn't be surprised at all if we see a decision before then because I think this is pretty much an easy case. They want people across the state to know that it's important for us to protect kids in Texas."

There have also been reports of gender transition surgeries that have happened illegally, at some Texas hospitals.
