As Congress continues work on appropriations, there's a growing fear Biden's Department of Defense could expand its gender politics if allowed to provide abortion travel subsidies to military members.
The issue highlighted by Alabama Sen. Tommy Tuberville's blocking of certain DOD appointments unless abortion subsidies are dropped.
"There is some indication the DOD is already using the Exceptional Family Member Program for children who have special disabilities to provide travel and time off for parents to take kids to a state where these so-called gender affirming treatments are legal," says Elaine Donnelly, president of the Center for Military Readiness.
Donnelly and others are urging Congress to put its foot down, and focus the DOD instead on things like protecting the U-S from foreign enemies.
