The Costs That Come with Everyone Going Back to the Office

Childcare is one of the first thoughts that comes to mind when considering the expenses the average worker has to incur as remote work is becoming less available for many.

You’ve got to spruce up the wardrobe. Sweatpants aren’t the option they had been the past couple years for many.

Jessica Chou, a reporter for the Wall Street Journal, reported that 20% to 30% of her paycheck is spent by the daily expenses associating with reporting to an office for employment.

Auto insurance is back to what it was before we discovered remote work options, and for some people that commute can run $200 a week when office parking is thrown into the mix.

Grabbing a cup of hot java is so much cheaper in your own kitchen and not having to pick one up on the way to work. Let’s not even get into the cost of lunch from the fridge vs lunch at a restaurant.
