Playing Politics: Woke Left Censoring Video Games

As if the left wasn't already coming after every aspect of your children's lives---from the classroom to children's books---now they are targeting video games. So-called 'translators' are censoring video games to remove references to gender or even male-female interactions, all on the grounds it could be sexist or offensive to someone. In one game, a male character asking a female character on a date was removed. So far, they haven't changed Mario rescuing the princess in Super Mario Bros., but the way things are going that could be next.

This is just the latest landmine for parents to navigate, as children are bombarded with content every second of the day. The last thing many parents think to do is to check their kids' video games for left-wing propaganda. "Parents are busy, so I'm not sure most parents really understand what their kids are watching or playing, and then they're shocked when they find out," says Melissa Mackenzie, parent and writer at the American Spectator. "So for all the working parents out there, even though you're busy you really have to pay attention to the media your children are consuming."

Whether it's books, TV shows, movies, music, sports or even video games, this is part of what Mackenzie calls a left-wing cultural revolution. "It's happening in every part of our entertainment and our education, and so parents have to really pay attention to what is going into their kids' heads everywhere," she says.

And if parents don't stand up and fight back, this woke revolution will only get worse. "I believe this is just going to progress, because it's a religion, it's a belief system for the left," says Mackenzie. "And these folks are totalitarians, and they have no tolerance for anyone else."

"If you don't pay attention to what your kids are doing, then someone is teaching your child, someone is influencing your child...and it's not you."
