The first Chinese officer ever to be extradited was sentenced last week to 20 years in federal prison for spying on U.S. aviation companies, yet President Joe Biden said nothing when meeting with leaders of the communist party.
Former U.S. trade representative Robert Lighthizer told Fox Business President Biden continued to bow down to China even when his own FBI director was warning Congress of its ongoing threat.
"Director of the FBI said their industrial espionage and the like is a greater threat to us than all the rest of the world combined," he said. "So they are a very, very serious problem."
Most notably was Biden's lifting of President Trump's ban on TikTok, which China uses to collect data.
"It is so ridiculous that we're allow them to do that," said Lighthizer. "And it's not like it's some secret technology. You could duplicate it in a heart beat."
Lighthizer argues China is an aggressive threat, and should be treated as such.
"We really shouldn't have technological interdependence as we do, it's a mistake," he says.
"The people who push it are either people making money and thus don't care. But more likely they're people that haven't addressed the fundamental question, are they aggressive threat to the American way of life?"
