Big things are getting smaller.
Shrinkflation is manufacturing’s answer to inflation – make the package smaller and raise the price – and it’s happening in more places.
Edgar Dworsky is a consumer attorney who publishes Consumer World online and keeps very close tabs on these things.
“For example, Charmin mega-rolls in the red package, that’s the strong type, just went from 265 sheets to 242 sheets. So you lost 22 sheets. In a twelve pack, that’s like only getting 11 rolls. You’ve lost one roll out of the 12, but the packages look the same, and if you don’t look at the fine print, you’re going to get snookered,” Dorsey tells KTRH News.
