Texas collected nearly $4,000,000,000 in state sales tax revenues in July for the highest one-month total in the state's history.
The state comptroller's office announced the figures this past week, stating that the oil and gas industry led the way.
These latest figured are up nearly 15% from a year ago.
Comptroller Glenn Hegar says almost every sector of the Texas economy added to the record figure, including construction, manufacturing, and wholesale trade.
