Oh My. The Boss Just Quit.

The era known as “The Great Resignation” shows no abatement and is showing up in executive suites. Now it's the Boss Loss.

Maybe it’s been there since the reshuffle of employees began, but a Deloitte survey now finds 70% of executives are sharpening their resumes and looking at options, as well. Workplace organizational firm Humu says managers’ jobs are 10 times harder than before the pandemic, trying to keep their own employees who are looking for greater flexibility and higher pay on board but wondering if they shouldn’t test the waters themselves. It should be expected, says Joel Patterson, founder of The Vested Group out of Plano. “Day to day, things are busy. People are working. It’s still hard to find people, even in the leadership position. So looking around, and figuring out whether or not there is a better place for you always makes sense on some level.”

The Deloitte survey finds 76% of executives say the pandemic has negatively affected their own overall health while they’ve been stressing over the well-being of those under them.
