Katy ISD teachers and staff are getting a pay raise.
The district's board of trustees on Thursday approved 5% pay increases for all classroom teachers and hourly employees for the 2022-2023 school year.
All other Katy ISD employees will get a 3% raise.
The starting pay for a new teacher in the district will be $60,700, one of the Houston area's highest starting teacher salaries.
