Thanks to COVID-19, I’ve had no opportunities for indoor book signings since early March. New Decade Gardening - A Gulf Coast Guide is still very new, but I’ve been unable to get it into the hands of many GardenLine listeners, unless they just happened to notice it while out shopping.
So, I’m getting busy with a bunch of appearances, running from this Saturday through Dec. 19, the Saturday before Christmas.
New Decade Gardening will make a great but inexpensive Christmas gift. It’s normally $14.95, but at many of these book signings, the price will be dropped low enough that you can afford to pick up a whole bunch. Get copies for your family, friends and neighbors, and turn them into GardenLine faithful like you, with great-looking lawns, gardens and landscapes. And I will autograph every copy.
First, let’s talk about about the places chosen. I wanted to be sure they were pretty big, or at least have an outdoor area, so we can socially distance and stay safe. If you’re like me, you’re aching to get out and talk about your gardening questions and the new book face-to-face. In this case, though, we’ll do it mask-to-mask.
We will start this Saturday at the iconic M&D Supply Ace Hardware store at 4530 College in Beaumont. This is probably the biggest Ace store in the Greater Houston Ace Retailer Group. They have upwards of 22,000 square feet, and they were the very first to book one of these signings. While I’m there, you’ll have a chance win all three products in the Nitro-Phos Texas 3-Step, and we’ll be giving two complete sets.
We’ll follow with more signings in the coming weeks. Here’s the first half of events we’ve scheduled:
Sat., Nov. 14 (Noon-3 p.m.) -- M&D Supply Ace Hardware, 4580 College St., Beaumont
Sat., Nov. 21 (11 a.m.-2 p.m.) – Plants For All Seasons, 21328 Hwy. 249 (South of Jones Road)
Sun., Nov. 22 (Noon-3 p.m.) – M&D Supply Ace Hardware, 13140 Louetta Rd. at Grant
Sat. Nov. 28 (Noon-3 p.m.) – Lake Conroe Ace Hardware, 19380 Hwy 105 (West of Walden Drive)
