The talk about tying Texas into the national power grid has been a subject for years, increasingly more so after the disaster of Winter Storm Uri. Many believe it is the answer to all the problems we suddenly seem to have, while others believe keeping it in the state's control is more advantageous.

The Liberal dream is alive once again, as Biden's Department of Energy has committed $360 million to fund a transmission line to connect the Texas power grid to Mississippi. It is what is called the 'Southern Spirit Line,' and was originally approved in 2014, with construction completed in 2019. However, lack of demand and the process of approving such a project delayed it. It would not begin construction in 2028, with completion by 2031.

It is all part of an 'Investing in America' agenda from Biden, which totals about $1.2 billion nationally. Funny that suddenly he cares about American investment after years of driving it into oblivion. Just 26 days until Election Day. Interesting how that works.

Jason Isaac of the American Energy Institute says this would just cause more problems in Texas.

"This is basically a handout to unreliable electric generators, mainly wind and solar, to move their production to other parts of the country," he says.

Texas has already had enough problems with green energy generation and keeping supply high enough to meet demand with it. Now, they want to shift our own resources, which do not work, to others.

Most people though do not want either green energy or to tie into the national grid. However, they keep shoving the agenda down our throats, in what could be termed a weaponization of our tax dollars against us. All it has done is up our energy costs with no real benefit. Over 40 percent of our grid is now on renewable power, which is slowly killing our energy independence.

Yet, these companies keep getting these subsidies to continue this generation because the Democrat government continues giving it to them.

"These are massive market distorting subsidies and is the only reason wind and solar have taken off," he says. "The parasite has grown so heavily on us."

But even as the people scream that they want to remain independent, the Electric Reliability Council of Texas, who controls our grid, does not seem to care. They have repeatedly expressed desire to tie into the national grid, instead of doing their job and fixing our problems. Why fix the problem when you can maybe get more government money, right?

That is the crossroads we face though, and the only way to fix the problem is pretty simple: get rid of the subsidies.

"These companies have embraces European political agendas, being pushed by China, because they are winners if we continue down this path," he says. "All of these agendas...net-zero, the Paris Climate Accord...are not rooted in law. They do not do anything to mitigate a changing climate...they just make things more expensive."

Isaac adds we have to get back to our oil roots in Texas and get rid of the politics in our power grid.
