The Harris County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the Sunday night death of a 7-year-old boy, wounded during a drive-by shooting in east Harris County.
Deputies had responded to reports of a shooting inside a residence in the 13800 block of McNair Street. There, authorities say, the boy was in bed inside his room when a bullet from outside struck him around 10:45 p.m.
According to investigators, the child was able to get up and alert his mother before collapsing.
The boy was transported by an ambulance to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Deputies say they have found no motive for the shooting, and no suspect has as yet been identified.
