Pushing Back: Thousands Gather in D.C. for 'Defeat the Mandates' Rally

A massive grassroots protest rally against vaccine mandates takes place this weekend on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. Defeat the Mandates - An American Homecoming begins Sunday morning at the Washington Monument, then includes a march to the Lincoln Memorial for a series of speakers and performers. Despite the recent Supreme Court ruling that blocked the federal vaccine mandate for large companies, mandates remain in place for healthcare workers, federal employees, truck drivers and others.

One of the key figures behind the event is Dr. Robert Malone, the original inventor of MRNA vaccines, whose recent appearance on the Joe Rogan Podcast was widely censored by social media and Big Tech platforms. Malone announced the Defeat the Mandates rally during that appearance with Rogan. "This is not about being anti-vaccines, it's about being anti-mandates," he said. "Democrat, Republican, vaccinated, unvaccinated...the thing we can agree on is personal liberty and the right of people to make their own choice, and that's what this rally is about."

"Whether you believe in (the vaccine) or don't believe in it, I hope that you believe in the integrity and freedom of your fellow man and woman to make their own bodily choices," he continued.

Also speaking at the rally will be Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who recently made an impassioned plea to fight back against mandates. "We've seen them come after our churches, our jury trials, our property rights, our education, our capacity to travel...now they're coming after our children. We need to stop them," said Kennedy.

The list of attendees includes Houston Dr. Richard Urso, who has been a vocal skeptic of vaccine policies and mandates. "The vaccine itself is not going to be able to provide safe schools, safe workplaces, and that's why it's not a good idea that we get too worked up about vaccine mandates," he recently told KTRH.
