Pro-Life Groups To Honor Texans For Defending The Unborn

Hundreds of thousands of pro-life Americans are gearing up to march in Washington.

Pro-lifers gathering in our nation's capital for the 49th annual March for Life are recognizing the contributions of Texans. At the National Prayer Service, pro-life organizations will thank State Senator Bryan Hughes and John Seago of Texas Right to Life. Both of them are key leaders in the enactment of the Texas Heartbeat Law. Jonathan Saenz, president of Texas Values, explains why the law bans abortion after six weeks of pregnancy.

“A baby’s heart starts beating around five or six weeks. That life should be protected, and a lot of people agree with that,” Saenz said. “They’re starting to be more aware of the science that we know. They can’t imagine the idea of ending that life.”

Saenz and other pro-life Americans hope to overturn Roe v. Wade, the 1973 Supreme Court decision that legalized abortion in the U.S.
