Texas Economy Looks Very Rosey

The recent spike in coronavirus cases is not dampening the Texas economy.

The latest report from the Texas Comptroller's office shows that Christmas shopping drove double-digit increase in the retail sector.

Spending at restaurants is now above pre-pandemic levels, according to the report.

That's a sharp contrast to other states, like California, where businesses are voluntarily closing.

Economist Ray Perryman says Texas has collected more than three-billion-dollars in sales tax revenue for nine-straight months.
