If you're planning on traveling to another country this summer, think again

The CDC says it's safe to travel if you've been vaccinated for COVID-19. But the State Department is sending a different message.

They plan to elevate about 80% of countries across the world to its highest travel advisory; Level 4 - Do Not Travel. That's typically used for countries at war. But, travel expert Peter Shankman says its an advisory, not a mandate.

"There are parts of every country where it is not safe, but as long as we can do it safely, it's fine. I'm going to Costa Rica. But I've done the research," Shankman said.

Shankman says if you choose to travel, do the research, and choose what you and your family are comfortable with.
