The family of U.S. Army Staff Sgt. James F. Moriarty accepted the medal in a ceremony in Memorial Park this past Wednesday, which was Moriarty's birthday.

Moriarty was killed in action in 2016 in Jordan, while participating in a Special Forces operation.

He attended Strake Jesuit College Preparatory in Houston and graduated from UT Austin in 2011.
