Houstonians Carry a Lot of Credit Card Debt (study shows)

In the days of layoffs and uncertain economy, Americans will start off 2021 with less credit card debt than at the start off 2020. - however Houston isn't faring all that well in the unsustainable credit card debt department. Wallethub studied American cities and towns and analysed their credit card debt. Wallethub analyst Jill Gnzales says, "If you're in the 99 percentile of the study - it's not a good thing. Now Houston doesn't find itself in the WORST spot --- but it's close. Houston is in the 81st percentile."

Not a Good Time for Credit Card Debt

With parts of the economy still on shaky ground and the holiday shopping is in full gear, the personal-finance website WalletHub says Houston is among the shakiest of the 250 American cities they studied. Analyst Jill Gonzales says Houston ranked in the 81st percentile. "If you get near the 99 percentile. People will wind up defaulting. People will get behind on their bills"
