All Carnival cruises that were planned to sail from Galveston in November and December are now canceled because of the pandemic.
Carnival Cruise Line announced on Thursday that it was canceling some or all of its cruises from every U.S. homeport except Miami and Port Canaveral.
The Strand is across the street from the Port of Galveston, and its restaurants and stores welcome thousands of tourists from around the country.
The pandemic has hurt business, but some shop owners say the impact hasn't been as severe as they expected.
