Houston Health Officials Recommend Covid Vaccines When Safe

Houston health officials are thinking ahead to the availability of the coronavirus vaccine, which may be late this year or early in 2021.

Dr. David Persse of the Houston Health Department says he plans to be vaccinated, and people should inform themselves and decide accordingly.

Dr. Peter Hotez with Baylor College of Medicine says first responders and healthcare workers should get the vaccine first, followed by high-risk persons.

A Houston Health Department official says drive-thru mass vaccination clinics are in the works.
