The Number of Major Corporation Going Bankrupt is Unprecedented

The impact of coronavirus is trickling through the economic infrastructure in the United States to devastating effect.

In July and August the number of corporate Chapter 11 filings has increase 244%.

Add to the list of businesses going under Brooks Brothers, Hertz, California Pizza Kitchen and Chuck E. Cheese.

J.C. Penney is among the companies who have found a buyer and have hopes of recovering, but many others aren’t so lucky.

Fracking pioneer Chesapeake Energy, Sur La Table, and Cirque du Soliel are among those that will probably not resurface.
