Analytics firm: Trump will win big Election Night, but lose later on

A data firm hired by Democrats is predicting a big Trump win on Election Night. But there's some fine print in there as well.

Here's how it works. Josh Mendelsohn of Hawkfish thinks it will be a landslide for Trump on November 3rd. And then the mail in votes get counted.

"When every legitimate vote is tallied and we get to that final day, which will be some day after Election Day, it will in fact show that what happened on election night was exactly that, a mirage," Mendelsohn said. "It looked like Donald Trump was in the lead and he fundamentally was not when every ballot gets counted."

Republican strategist Matt Mackowiak says he doesn't expect a winner on November third.

"I don't think it will take weeks or months. You have about two and a half months between the election and inauguration. The transition has to take place during that time period," Mackowiak explained.

If the Hawkfish scenario plays out, it won't go over well.

"The bigger concern is going to be whether the public will see the change in result as valid,"

Hawkfish is funded by Mike Bloomberg, and does work for the DNC.
