EVACUATIONS: The list of orders in place due to Hurricane Laura

Here’s a list of the evacuation orders in place right now due to Hurricane Laura:

  • City of Baytown - Voluntary evacuation recommended for ZIP codes 77520 and 77523.
  • Brazoria County - Voluntary evacuation order for low-lying coastal communities that are outside of the protection levee.
  • Chambers County - Mandatory evacuation order for residents who live in low-lying and flood-prone areas. People who live in trailers or manufactured homes are required to move to a safer location. The county is offering a limited number of charter busses to assist residents in evacuation. The busses will depart from Anahuac High School and Winnie-Stowell Park early Wednesday morning.
  • f Dickinson issued a voluntary evacuation order as of 2 p.m. Tuesday. It applies to all in the 77539 zip code.
  • Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo issued voluntary evacuations of coastal Harris County communities. Residents in the following zip codes below should consider evacuating:Zip Zone A - 77058s, 77586 Zip Zone B - 77058n, 77059, 77062, 77507, 77520, 77523, 77546n, 77571, 7759The City of Galveston ordered a mandatory evacuation Tuesday. All city services have been suspended.
  • Houston - Voluntary Evacuations have been issued for residents in Houston Zip Codes 77059, 77062, and 77058 North. Houstonians in the voluntary evacuation area can call 3-1-1 for shelter information. Anyone outside of the zone should begin preparing to shelter in place.
  • Galveston County Judge Mark Henry has issued a mandatory evacuation order for the Bolivar Peninsula, including the unincorporated areas of Port Bolivar, Crystal Beach, High Island, and Gilchrist
  • Jefferson County has ordered a mandatory evacuation.
  • Kemah - The city of Kemah is under a mandatory evacuation, according to Galveston County Judge Mark Henry.
  • Lake Jackson - Voluntary evacuation order for low-lying areas outside the hurricane levee. This does not include Lake Jackson.
  • La Porte has issued a voluntary evacuation order for all areas of the city, effective immediately.
  • League City - Voluntary Evacuation Order Issued for League City residents in low lying areas including those along Clear Lake, Clear Creek & Dickinson Bayou, along with residents with medical needs and who use devices that require electricity, are strongly encouraged to consider evacuating.
  • Nassau Bay - Mayor Mark Denman has issued a voluntary evacuation recommendation for Nassau Bay’s most vulnerable residents including the disabled and those with medical needs.
  • Port Arthur : The City of Port Arthur will be ordering a mandatory evacuation effective at 6 a.m. this morning.Texas A&M University: University officials announced that it was issuing mandatory evacuation orders for all students on the Texas A&M University at Galveston campus effective today.
  • Orange County: Orange County and city Officials are calling for a mandatory evacuation for all of Orange County at 6 am, Tuesday. Citizens who cannot evacuate themselves can find transportation resources at either of the two embarkation sites in the county. Evacuees can arrive at location at 9 am, Tuesday. The two locations are Lamar State College Orange, 410 Front Street and Vidor Elementary, 400 Old Hwy 90 E
  • Seabrook: Mayor Thom Kolupski issued a voluntary evacuation order for the entire city.
  • Texas A&M University -- University officials announced that it was issuing mandatory evacuation orders for all students on the Texas A&M University at Galveston campus effective Tuesday.
  • Texas Department of Criminal Justice: The Texas Department of Criminal Justice announced that it is evacuating three secure facilities and a portion of a fourth facility, along with three residential facilities in the Beaumont and Jasper areas. The Beaumont Residential Reentry Center, two Transitional Treatment Centers, the Gist State Jail, LeBlanc Unit, and portions of the Stiles Unit in Beaumont, and the Goodman Unit in Jasper began evacuations yesterday. The moves will affect approximately 3,400 offenders and 200 clients assigned to these facilities.
