The body of missing 2 year old Maliyah Bass may have been found in Brays Bayou this morning. Police Chief Acevedo held a brief press conference this afternoon and said, "We asked her mother, 'is this her?'. We asked officials who checked the databases of other missing children, 'is this her?'. We believe there is a major possibility that this is the body of Maliyah Bass."
Her mother said Maliyah was playing outside when the mother went inside briefly to cook breakfast. The Chief told Maliyah's mother they will get justice for her.
