Plain-clothes Harris Cty, deputy shoots, kills man that approached with gun

The Harris County Sheriff's Office says a plain-clothes deputy who was on duty this morning shot and killed an armed man in the southwest part of the county.

The shooting was reported about 7 o'clock this morning.

A tweet from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office says the man was armed with a gun when he approached the deputy. The deputy fired and the man died while trying to run away from the scene.

The deputy was not hurt.
