Doctor: Texas City nursing home coronavirus drug treatment successful

A couple of weeks ago we told you about a Texas City nursing home that was treating 39 patients with COVID-19. Doctor Robin Armstrong was using the anti-malaria drug hydroxychloroquine. Weeks after administering that treatment, Armstrong says it was a success.

"I think the families are pretty happy and pretty pleased with how things went," Armstrong told KTRH.

There were two deaths at the nursing home, but Armstrong says they were not caused by the drug.

"One patient completed the therapy but had a lot of other conditions," Armstrong stated.

The other death was a patient who was 100 years old and had completed the treatment. Despite the success, Armstrong is confused at how the mainstream media is covering this.

"It's the oddest thing. To me, the drug is neutral. It's not Republican or Democrat. It's just what we think will help," Armstrong stated, adding that because President Trump is pushing it, the media is against it.
