Harris County Suspends Jury Service Through May 31 Due To COVID-19

Harris County District Courts have suspended jury service through May 31 due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

This measure comes on the heels of a Stay Home-Work Safe order that Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo issued in March. The order advised non-essential businesses to shut down and for residents to stay home except for essential activities.

Prospective jurors who have received a summons don’t need to appear, nor reschedule.

The jury staff of the Harris County District Clerk’s Office is working remotely and can be reached via email at: Jury@hcdistrictclerk.com.
