Former Astronaut Victim of Public Storage Theft

Retired NASA astronaut Walter Cunningham is one of a number of victims of thieves who have repeatedly hit a self-store place near the Galleria.

Cunningham and his wife Dot have been customers of the Public Storage location for more than ten years.

He says thieves made off with family heirlooms, space memorabilia, NASA documentation, and a rifle.

Police say more than two-dozen storage units were broken into and hundreds of thousands of dollars' worth of items taken.

One victim says his unit has been broken into several times in recent months, and the thieves seem to know where the most valuable things are.
