Fox 26: Software Glitches Had Potential For People To Vote Twice

Another mess with voting in Harris County.

Fox 26’s Ivory Heckler reports that she:

“...confirmed there were flaws in the election computer system Tuesday that, if left unresolved, would have left open the opportunity for a person to vote more than once.
The election judges at the polling places at Harris County Law Library and Fiesta Mart on Kirby told FOX 26 theirs were two of the polling places where glitches in the iPad software Tuesday could have compromised the integrity of the election if not resolved. Harris County Clerk Diane Trautman said Wednesday the glitches have been resolved”.

Harris County Republican Party Chair Paul Simpson tells Fox 26 “there have been enough snafus that I think any voter should have concern.”

The Harris County Republican Party posted on their Facebook page: “We are aware of multiple reports of issues with voter rolls at several early voting locations, including missing or incorrect voter information in the iPad system and missing mail ballot data.

These are very serious recurring issues, which disenfranchise Harris County voters”.

The report from Fox 26 adds that Harris County Republican Party Ballot Security Committee chairman Alan Vera says they are “getting reports from multiple Early Voting locations on some fairly serious data problem...An unusually high number of voters are presenting themselves to vote and the clerks are unable to find them in the e-poll book database”.

The Harris County Republican Party says “[I]f you are attempting to vote and you find that your information is missing or inaccurate, please reach out to Alan Vera, HCRP Ballot Security Chair, at alanv@tqba.com.
