Amy Klobuchar In 2006 Was A Bit Of A Hawk On Illegal Immigration

Newly unearthed footage from 2006 that came from a BernieBro writer shows Klobuchar basically pushing Trump’s policies that included a physical barrier at the U.S.-Mexico border along with mandatory E-Verify to stop employers from hiring illegals.

The video is from a senate debate where she says:

“I do believe that we need more resources at the border and that includes a fence. What we have now, we have people waiting to come in legally. Thousands of people waiting to come in legally to this country, and we have people coming in illegally. That’s not right. We need to get order at the border. But we also have to stop giving amnesty to companies that are hiring illegal immigrants. Under this administration, the number of prosecutions of companies [hiring illegal immigrants] has gone way down. That has to change”.

She went on to push for amnesty or “earned citizenship” as she called it for illegal who are already here.

The Daily Caller’s Jason Hopkins writes about Klobuchar’s positions now:

“Klobuchar, like all of the Democratic presidential candidates, is opposed to President Donald Trump’s border wall construction efforts. Included in her immigration platform is a pledge to rescind the executive order Trump issued in order to secure extra funding for construction. The senator has consistently bemoaned about the costs of a physical barriers and its reallocation from other sources.”
