Economy adds 145 thousand jobs in December

Economists had expected the U.S. to add 160,000 jobs in the month of December. But the newest numbers that came out this morning came up short of that.

The economy added 145,000 jobs last month. But the unemployment rate remained at 3.5% KTRH's Ken Moraif, who hosts Money Matters on Saturdays at 4PM and Sundays at 1PM, told Houston's Morning News there was something else in the report that got his attention.

"Wages are rising. More people our coming into the labor force, and I think we are going to see jobs numbers pick up in the near future," Moraif said.

Moraif will be hosting a 'Retirement Town Hall' on January 21st here in Houston.

"We'll talk about when to take Social Security. Should you take it when you're 62, 66, or 70? How do I take it. If you go to their website, there are 9,100 ways to collect Social Security," Moraif said.

It is a FREE Retirement Town Hall. Click HERE to reserve your spot on the 21st!
