Appeals Court Extends Injunction to Keep Baby Alive

Late Friday, the 2nd Court of Appeals in Fort Worth granted an emergency stay preventing 11-month old Tinslee Lewis from being taken off life support while her family appeals the hospital's decision to remove her. The family asked for the emergency stay after a lower court denied their request for a temporary injunction to keep Tinslee alive a day earlier. Doctors have argued the child is suffering and there is nothing more they can do to help her, but her family is fighting to keep her alive in the hopes she can recover. Governor Greg Abbott and Attorney General Ken Paxton both filed briefs with the court in support of keeping Tinslee alive.
